Crash & Vehicle Analysis

Occupant Kinematics

How occupants moved during a crash — and what that means for injuries.

Occupant Kinematics

Occupant kinematics analyzes how occupants moved within the confines of a vehicle during a collision, combining an analysis of the collision dynamics with the physical evidence. Useful information may include event data recorder (EDR) data, seat-belt evidence, witness marks, biomechanics, and medical records. It can be used to evaluate low-speed collisions, crashworthiness, occupant ejections, injury mechanisms, and seat-belt usage.
